John was born and raised in a Christian home outside the small town of Swanton, Ohio. He spent his childhood knee deep in muddy creeks and lost in cornfields gaining a deep appreciation for Gods creation. John was introduced to hunting at a young age by going out behind the house with his dad and processing deer with the local farmers, before it was safe to give a child a knife. Growing up in prime Ohio agriculture country he developed an obsession with harvesting mature whitetails. Currently, John lives in a semi-off-grid cabin in the Roosevelt National Forest of Colorado. John is a board member of the Colorado chapter Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, a certified wilderness first responder and a hunting guide on the western slope. He enjoys spending time outside with his dog, friends and mentoring new hunters. As a part of our Liberty Game Calls team, John is excited to spread his love of the outdoors within his community!
Andrew Wright
As a young boy, I always enjoyed hunting the hard woods of Minnesota with my dad. I remember being 4 or 5 years old and sitting in the tree stand with him, and loving every minute of it. When I was 15 years old we moved to Eastern Montana. Here in Montana, I fell in love with elk hunting. It's not just a passion, but an obsession. I spend countless hours and miles in the dark timber hunting elk for myself, and enjoying guiding others into successful moments in there lives!!! I always tell my elk clients you can beat there ears and eyes, but you never beat there nose!
Adam VanValkenburg
Ever since Adam could carry his Daisy bb gun, he was always out hunting the Rocky Mountains of Colorado with his dad. Growing up and being the fourth generation on his family ranch allowed him to pursue a passion for the outdoors and hunting. Once he was old enough to carry a 22, he couldn’t wait to get home from school and go exploring around the ranch, reading sign, and developing an understanding on the behavior and language of animals that he would one day pursue. In 2016 he became a guide in northwest Colorado and was eager to share in his obsession with other hunters. He is always thrilled meeting people from all over the country, taking them hunting for their first time, and seeing the newfound excitement they have for the sport. Throughout his years of hunting, he was always in search of the perfect hunting rifle. In 2020 an opportunity allowed him to start his studies to become a gunsmith, with the intention of creating highly accurate and light weight hunting rifles. This has allowed him to add even more thrill to the hunt and has cemented his passion for hunting for many years to come.
